I am extremely pleased to bring to you the first installment of the 'H.R Interview' series. In it, we plan to feature talented, inspirational and innovative henna artists.
Our first interviewee gratefully embodies the quote above. We'd like to introduce you to Hafsa - a Birmingham based Mehndi artist.
Q. How long have you been a Henna Artist and what motivated you to start?
---> About a year, and my mother really wanted me to start and my friends used to encourage me.
Q. If you had to, how would you describe your Henna/Mehndi style?
---> Floral and Paisley patterns.
Q. Where do you draw inspiration for your designs from?
---> From my head and sometimes the Asian clothes I'm wearing.
Q. Do you have any favourite henna artists at the moment?
---> Henna Visa ❤️
Q. What piece of advice would you give to someone who wants to start or is interested in Henna?
- Start doodling on family and friends first.
- PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT (lol HR say this all the time.)
- Don't be nervous, believe in yourself you will do amazing!
- And Google designs!
Q. Best and worst moment as an artist.
---> First booking is the worst (so nervous). Best thing about it is that the feedback from customers is so satisfying ❤️
Q. Any tips and tricks?
---> Don't be nervous, get good henna cones
Q. What do you love most about being a henna artist?
---> The feeling when a customer is happy with the work ❤️ xxxx
